Today in math we had a paper airplane contest. We used the scientific and mathematic formula, distance divided by time equals the rate or speed, to get the winner for fastest, farthest and most accurate airplane. It was fun and interesting to do because even though probability wasn’t completely relevant it still is useful in the field of mathematics.

Science is like married to math, mathematical methods have supported science for as long as it has existed. With the math processes that are required for science to take place and evolve they are hand in hand. The news clipping we read talked about how closely together math and science are and just how much math might persuade scientific methods. Our favorite part is just the fact that math is required in many subjects.

Probability is used for mathematics, statistics, finance, gambling, science, and philosophy. Probability in these subjects is helpful for drawing conclusions. The most important and interesting thing about probability is how many different subjects actually use it like: math, science and even politics!
Ex. If you wanted to logically choose between 10 different colored marbles, there are 6 red marbles, 2 blue marbles and 2 white marbles. What is the probability of getting only blue and white marbles?
